Rata Industries of Winchester, Timaru has built its success on knowing what works best for New Zealand farmers then following through with the design and manufacturing robust and clever equipment of unsurpassed quality and durability.
Rata’s development team work hard to produce the design that best suits the needs of the end user. Having constant contact with our customers, we can address any development needs that arise very quickly. Rata’s aim is to provide products that are user friendly, ergonomic, practical and cost effective.
Rata uses a quality German tine manufacturer for all tines in its attachment range. Our supplier specialises in the forging of steel for high wearing parts used in the agricultural machinery industry. Today they are at the forefront of manufacturing spring steel tines for front mounted and telescopic loader attachments as well as blades for soil preperation and grass cutting. Their products enjoy a worldwide reputation.
So how does it work? A negative charge is generated around the paint particle cloud by an electrode in the gun head. The highly charged particles are then applied to the earthed item being sprayed, and the electric charge ensures total uniformity of the paint build on the surface into and around every angle and curve of the item. This results in a thick, uniform coating that resists wear and lasts the test of rugged day-to-day use on the farm.
Fully welded taper sleeve conuses are the secret behind strong tines and they also give the frame box section extra strength to withstand the impact and force exerted to the forged spring steel tines when being forced to insert inside tightly packed materials such as bales and pit silage. The taper sleeve conus is supported to each end, with welding to the box section wall, this gives maximum support over the long working life of the attachment.
The use of high tensile steel to construct the chassis and framework of this this 3-axle semi low-loader steel transport trailer model reduced the volume of steel needed to construct the trailer by an impressive 2 tonnes, compared with our equivalent legacy steel transport trailer of the same type. Chieftain’s capability to manufacture from high-tensile steel in 2016 is the result of a significant investment by the firm in the implementation of efficient state-of-the-art thermomechanical rolling equipment for use in manufacturing.
High tensile steel is not only stronger weight-for-weight, it is more durable too. The lower volume of the transport trailer structure has allowed for further design innovations such as an ultra-low deck and low ride height air suspension. Chieftain have also developed a clever new side-lashing D-ring anchorage system.
